Brügger & Thomet AG (B&T) was established in May 1991 by Mr. Karl Brügger and Mr. Heinrich Thomet to produce suppressors for the domestic Swiss market. After sometime Mr. Thomet sold his shares of the company to Mr. Brügger who remains the sole owner of B&T today. Mr. Brügger also takes keen interest in everything technical that B&T does and has his input in every design the company produces.
B&T is fully licensed by the Swiss Government to import, export, trade and manufacture all categories of war material including small arms, ammunition, and related accessories. The actual location is
B&T consists of two separate divisions, one trading and one manufacturing division. The trading division works mainly on the domestic Swiss LE and military market, representing global companies in the industry such as Heckler & Koch GmbH,
The manufacturing division is working as the designer and producer of choice by many leading manufacturers in the European arms industry with suppressors and accessory mounts. If you ask HK for a suppressor they will supply a B&T product. B&T is working hard to promote its brand as one that is known for quality. It is a registered NATO supplier (NCAGE SV178) with many NSN NATO Stock Numbers on it’s products.
B&T is still a rather small company with less than 30 employees of which 20 are filling technical positions such as production operators, designers and engineers. The others are specialists in international trading, freight management and office management.
The production facility is consisting of 14 CNC workstations. For prototyping purposes there are nine conventional workstations. B&T is developing not less than 100 new products per year. For development and quality control, B&T supports an own testing facility.
The full B&T enterprise with all its management processes is ISO 9001:2008 certified since 2005.
B&T is a global player with its own products and a major supplier for Swiss law enforcement for duty gear and weaponry.
